West Hayes – Devon

In 2012 we were in negotiation with West Devon for a scheme for 15 houses with 10 of these as affordable. This was driven by a Housing Needs Survey and addressed their considerable affordable housing requirement.

Our relationship with the local authority deteriorated slightly and we were forced to reduce the numbers to 10 market and 4 affordable which they seemed to prefer. However, we fell foul of a change in policy that was adopted on the day of the planning meeting, and we were refused which meant that we had to go to appeal. Here we were successful and then sold the consented site to Strongvox Homes. This link is to the promotional brochure on their website, you can see the tremendous job they have done.

It also includes a second site for three houses on the same land where we secured consent and subsequently sold to Strongvox.
